The three-years project 'Crossing Olympus: Passages and defense in Perrhaibia of the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly -under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture- was carried out under the writers’ direction during the second research-period in July 2009. We investigated the area between Kallithea village and Sparmos Monastery. The most important finding was the location of an unknown Hellenistic-Roman town, probably fortified, at the site Phanos of Phlambourou/ Mitsiouni village; the town was the key point for controlling the Diava pass towards the Konospoli basin.
