The paper offers a cross-disciplinary consideration of sound, with examples drawn from echotopia (soundscapes), in the work of Michael Mitsakis. The paper examines the basic theoretical principles that refer to the social, cultural and communicative importance of sound, that characterize relations with man over time. The paper also closely examines the exploitation, as it were, or, rather, the opportunity for exploitation of this topic by folklorists and the links between Greek folklore and literature.
