Abstract:
Nineteen ninety-three saw the completion of the investigation that had begun the previous year with the discovery of 260 graves of the Roman and Hellenistic periods. The Roman graves, in the upper layers, include simple pit graves, tile graves, and built cist graves, the latter presenting a greater structural variety. The most common type of Hellenistic grave (in the lower layers) is the rock-cut pit grave with a thin coating of plaster in the interior and, usually, a wooden mortuary couch
