Abstract:
Between 1988 and 1991 the excavation of building-block B within the building block with the circular peribolos in the area of the Canal of Pella yielded a complex of buildings with large open rooms, a small temple, a fountain, pits and a cistern. It is a sanctuary of a healing deity, as it was also implied by an inscription discovered during the last excavational season. The name Darron, recorded in the inscription, is the first epigraphic evidence of a god, recorded by Hesychios as Μαχεδόνων δαίμων ω υπέρτων νοσούντων εύχονται, and implies his worship at Pella, in the building complex discovered during the recent years in the area of the Canal.
