The conservation project at the archaeological museum of Aiani

The systematic excavations conducted at Aiani during the last years brought to light valuable historical evidence, which resulted in the establishment of a local museum. The paper aims to communicate the experience of the conservation project which was started there six years ago by giving general information and some important details about the establishment of the conservation laboratory, the setting up of teams of conservators, the storage and display of finds, as well as the conservation processes (examination, recording, treatments) applied to different kinds of objects (bronze vessels, iron weapons, silver and gold ornaments, ceramics, glass objects, etc.) from the moment of their exposure on the site, till the moment of their display.
