Abstract:
According to the sum of the available data during the mid September 1960 the Petralona human skull could be found exclusively in the inner then known Cave compartment, and there where deposits mixed with fossil bones are only met (i.e. in the last 20 m out of 157 m that have being initially located). In this Cave compartment of 20 m, and from the contrasting of the Cave maps carried out before and after the Archanthropus discovery, only a small cubicle was not explored till the September 15th 1960, the “Mausoleum” chamber. Therefore, along with the witnesses of the six men present during the moment of the discovery, this cavity is the only one that practically could ever be found the skull of Petralona Man.
