Abstract:
In March 1999, builders excavating block 40 in the extension of the village of Souroti in the Municipality of Vassilika, Thessaloniki prefecture, found some grave slabs, as a result ot which archaeological investigations were carried out on the building site. A total of 8 graves were found, of which 4 were pit graves, 2 cist graves, 1 a sarcophagus, and one a burial in a covered shallow pit. The graves span a wide period of time, from the end of the 6th cent. BC to the end of the 4th cent. BC.
