Ancient Stagira was discovered at the NE part of Chalkidiki peninsula, south of Olumpiada. In this region, many important ore recourses exist, which were exploited for a long time in the past and recently. The purpose of this paper is the study of the metal artefacts, found during the excavations and their connection with the metal recourses of the region. We study the mineralogical and chemical composition of copper, lead objects and slags, which were found during the excavation of ancient Stagira. Litharge is a very important object of the research, because it is a product of cupellation, the most common metallurgical method, used for producing silver from galena ore, ore that is very common in the district of Chalkidiki. In these slags, the minerals litharge and massicot were located.. Within the crystals of litharge and massicot, lead, calcium, and silicon minerals and bismuth, silver and lead inclusions were also found.Copper artefacts consist of copper 84,88%-99,85% and tin up to 11,95%. The presence of tin means the use of bronze and not pure copper. Lead artefacts consist of 98,2 up to 100% lead and the rest is antimony (up to 1,32%). In some cases, many antimony, silver, copper inclusions are found in lead artefacts.
