Abstract:
In the recent of Archaeologicon Deltion (Voi. 33, 1978 p. 337-341, PI. 101-103) is published a red figured lekythos from Eretria attributed by the author to the Pan Painter. In the present article Mrs. E. Serbeti discusses this attribution and after a detailed analysis of the stylistic and compositional similarities between this lekythos and many other works of the Brygos Painter, she as signes the lekythos to this painter. Especially she compares it with the lekythos 28.57.12 of the Metropolitan Museum ofN. York from the point of view of subject-matter, composition, and figure style and with the figure of Dionysus on the nolan amphora 695 of Vienna of the Brygos Painter.
