Abstract:
Examination of the pottery found in the small (in terms of its size and the thickness of the deposits) seasonal, though fully excavated installation inside the cave at the source of the Angitis reveals shapes that cover a wide geographical area from the Danube (Salcuja IIc-III group, Cernavodäl, Cäscioa- rele), Aegean Thrace (Paradimi, Makri), the plain of Drama (Sitagroi, Dikili Tash, Doxat Tepe), the Strymon valley (Kolarovo, Dimitra),as far as eastern Thessaly (Pefkakia).Macroscopically, the clay used seems to have come from the plain of Drama. Finally, in chronological terms, the bulk of the material covers the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age. There are many more finds from the Chalcolithic period than from the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. The surface level yielded a few remains of later periods.
