Abstract:
The Department of Bronzes of the National Archaeological Museum at Athens has undertaken the conservation and classification of the archaic and classical bronzes, found on the Acropolis during the late 19th cent, excavations. Apart from the already known and exhibited bronzes, a great number of minor bronzes, from the same find, had not so far been conserved and studied. From the newly cleaned material, we have chosen to present here a selection of handles (figs. 1 - 5 ) which must have belonged to a type of deep bowl. Some of them bear inscriptions and, together with others also found on newly cleaned small bronzes, will enrich our knowledge of dedications on the Athens Acropolis.
