Abstract:
Near the site of the ancient city of Phthiotic Thebes ( 4 klm. West of Nea Anchialos and of the Bay of Pagasae, near the village of Mikrothebai ) a group of 16 accidentally discovered tombs was excavated. The tombs were Cist - tombs and belong to the long period from the fifth century B.C. to Christian times. They have yielded the customary tomb finds ( fi g s. 1 - 6 ) and six inscriptions, not, however, usually found in place.
