Abstract:
The excavation of the Geometric settlement on the island of Donoussa was continued in 1972.Remains of three more buildings were discovered in the area near the fortification wall and of a fourth near the center of the settlement. Each of the three buildings had two rooms. In one of these rooms a central post of wood resting on a square stone base supported the roof. This is the only room with a central roof support so far found in the settlement. As usual, many fragmentary vases were found. It was possible to put together many complete vases, including large amphorae, skyphoi, oino- choai and several craters. Typical examples of these shapes are illustrated in figs. 3-6.
