In this article the author investigates the relation of the Greek theatrical revue to the dance, a relation which, although self-evident, is not a simply one but multifarious and very complicated, because dance is in the first place an ingredient of the Revue as theatrical genre, while the role which it has to fulfill in the frame of the whole performance is in the same time constructive as well as functional. Subsequently these two aspects are developed following the historical course of the genre in Greece and according its specific ideological principles.
