The scenes of theatre theory are considerably more nowadays than they used to be a few decades ago, consequently the theoretical problems arising from these scenes have also multiplied. Certain among them are examined in this study:The contestation of theoretical discours and his relations to the history of theatre.The surface conflict of theorists and artists. Some general problems of the theory’s definition. The pluralism of theoretical thought and the relativity of scientific approaches. The «antinatural» thought and the deception of natural reader and artist. The game of references and citations. The «reserved» concepts and the energetic role of theory of theatre.
