In 1910 and 1927, Francisco de San Roman, a Spanish researcher of the Toledan archives, recorded a short list of the Greeks, who, between 1600 and 1608, had created some kind of connection with Dominicos Theotokopoulos, at that time resident of the imperial city. The autor of this study, on the basis of information derived from Spanish archives, rectifies the correct form of almost all the names and origin of those persons, analyses the conditions which obliged them to leave their own countries and take refuge in Spain, and reconsiders the importance of the relations between them with the eminent Greek painter of Toledo. In an appentix some of the relevant documents are published in extenso.
