Abstract:
It is now accepted that History is asuccession of periods of stability and consolidation alternating with periods of unrest and upheaval. The study of chaotic systems which led to the formulation of the theory of chaos indicates that our planet as a whole is currently traversing an extremely chaotic phase, where ecological and climatic disturbances couple themselves with financial and political instability. In the frame of this reality, Greece, whose ancient thinkers invented the notion of chaos, faces a critical moment of its history, where the danger of destructive processes goes hand in hand with an enormous potential for renewal and regeneration.
