Abstract:
During the sixties, the experimentation and self reflection in theatrical writing prominent in Europe, didn’t seem to have a big influence on Greek writers. At that particular period in Greece, there were numerous theatrical writers who made their first appearance. Some of them attempted to define a new greek style and form a greek theater of the paralogue. Others, wrote plays which were closer to the genre of farce. At the end of the dictatorship, there was, with a few exceptions, a plethora of plays which were schematic and shared a rather vague ideological position. As a result, we can not speak, of a real renaissance of greek theater during the dictatorship.
