The Greek Society «Hermes» of Constantinople published form 1878 to 1880 the review bearing the same name. In that review one finds several references to the modern Greek poet Achilleus Paraschos, head of the Romantic School of Athens, eminent member of the Parnassos Literary Society and national poet of Greece. The author presents and analyzes these references, as well as the publication of Paraschos ’ poems in the review Hermes, concluding that the influence of Paraschos, of romantic poetry and of modern Greek literature in general was considerable among Greeks of Constantinople.
