Five unknown and unpublished letters of the Greek folklorists N. Mavris (1899-1978), M. Michailidis - Nouaros (1877-1954), G. Megas (1893-1976) and G. Casavis (1898-1972, two) which were sent to the important British neohel- lenist, archeologist, dialectologist and folklorist Richard M. Dawkins (1871- 1955), are published, commented on, in this essay.I found these letters in Dawkins’ Records which can be found today in the Library of Taylor Institution (Slavonic and Greek Section) of the University of Oxford.The content of the letters refers to subjects of folklore (mainly) bibliography, it mentions historical facts of that period and gives information about the social life of that time.
