Abstract:
The present study, whose composition is based on research into the military archives as well as on the relevant editions by the Direction of Military History of Greece, outlines the glorious period of the Balkan Wars. During the First Balkan War, the Greek army incarnated national desires and liberated almost all Greek lands and islands under Turkish domination. The Second Balkan War saw the Greeks resist to the rapacity of the Bulgarians, who proved to be false allies. The brilliant results of the Balkan Wars were due to the systematic organization, excellent training and regular renewing of supplies of the Greek armed forces, but also to the skills, courage and determination of all military and political leaders of Greece.
