Unknown notes of the Bishopric of Lacaedemon
Author:
Abstract:
The author reproduces and discusses two short notes he discovered in an old manuscript. The first one, which contains many orthographic errors, was written by a monk named Daniel and refers to the arrival at his monastery, in the Peloponnese, of a group of new monks, on the 15th of November, 1765. The second note, in a different handwriting and with no errors, is a greeting addressed to Seraphim, Metropolitan of Lacaedemon. This note must have been written toward the end of the 18th century, and is in fact quite intriguing, since in the existing archives there is no mention of any metropolitan of Lacaedemon named Seraphim.
