Abstract:
The concept of justice, expressed in ancient Greek by the term dike, has various connotations, ranging form the right of the stronger to the notion of equality before the law. The author explores the different aspects of justice in the works of ancient Greek thinkers, from the Presocratic philosophers to Aristotle; despite their differences, all of them share the conviction that justice is a necessary condition for the good functioning of any human society and for the well-being of all individuals.
