Marinetti at the Parnassos Literary Society and his manifesto addressed to the youth of Greece

In January 1933, the famous Italian writer and founder of the movement of Futurism, F. T. Marinetti visited Greece on the occasion of an exposition of aeropainting organized by the Italian Institute of Athens. During his sojourn, which provoked stirrings in the artistic and literary circles of the Greek capital, Marinetti accorded several interviews to Greek newspapers and delivered three lectures. In one of them, entitled “Raise your flag: Manifesto to the youth of Greece” and declaimed at the Parnassos Literary Society, Marinetti addressed his futurist message to the young people of Greece, exhorting them to shake off the chains of the past and concentrate their efforts to the achievement of a brighter future.
