Abstract:
In this article we identify and expose the anti-technical spirit and the anti-manual attitude which most Greeks have. We examine and explain the reasons for this attitude and consider some of the consequences it has on Greek education and Society.Greek education is mostly theoretical, not practical; it is wordy; it is conducted with words and in an abstract, not in ce concrete way. Some consequences of this practice is that it does not help its pupils develop their will, their dexterity and their confidence. It places emphasis on memorization and not on action, on experiential learning. It is a traditionally formal enterprise.
