Webloggs or blogs are a new means of communication. Book blogs, in particular, form a special category focusing on books, reading, literature and the publishing industry. The paper aims at providing an overview of the Greek book blogs as they are developing nowadays. After a short presentation of the nature and the creation of blogs, the paper focuses on Greek book blogs classifying them according to the blogger. The categories are: libraries - information centres' book blogs, writers’ book blogs, readers’ bookblogs, publishers’ book blogs. The aim of the paper is to present the profile of book blogs in Greece nowadays, to study their influence on the reading behaviour and the book market, and furthermore to examine them as a means of book policy. It must be pointed out though that due to the flexible nature of book blogs, the paper attempts to provide a profile of the current situation in Greece capturing the moment.
