The role of the parents is particularly important and decisive during children's development. Parents can help their children to establish environmental attitudes, either directly by intervening deliberately and systematically to the children's attitudes, or indirectly, by functioning as informal pedagogic procedures that can help the children shape pro-environmental attitudes. The aim of this empirical study is to examine whether family's démographe variables can play a significant role in predicting proenvironmental behaviors. Resullts indicated that the predictive power of demographic variables is generally low. Data analysis supports the hypothesis that demographic variables have a weak and less consistent impact on pro-environmental behavior.
