Abstract:
Educations is a sector where the female presence is quantitatively strong. Men seem to prevail in the higher hierarchy of the sector, however. The present article examines the phenomenon of women under representation at the higher hierarchical levels of the Primary Education, using the answers of people holding senior positions in the area of Crete, studying how they perceive the phenomenon and focusing mainly on the possible reasons that discourage women from attempting to reach those higher levels.
