In this study we examine the policies with regard to for the Secondary Education School Advisor in Greece since its legislation with the Law 1304/1982. In particular, by using the method of content analysis, we study the legislative regulations regarding the role and duties of the School Advisor (i.e. : Laws, Presidential Decrees, Ministerial Decisions), ranging them in specific chronological periods on the basis of the political parties in power. Our aim is to reveal the educational policies for this institution that appeared in each period. Data analysis pointed out that since 1982 the role of the School Advisor has gradually become awkward mainly because of the absence of long-term and consent educational politics as well as the central education control.
