Abstract:
In our study, after a short retrospection in the relationship between man and nature, we clarify the terms ecology (superficial and deep) and ecofeminism, which constitute the composition between ecology and feminism, as woman and nature are connected by common characteristics (fertility, ferocity, vulnerability). Next, we refer to the versions of (eco) feminism and connect ecofeminism with ecofeministic ethics of care. As the connection between ecofeminism and literature has already been made, we attempt to connect ecofeminism with children's literature and to investigate to what extent literary texts for children and young adults promote ecofeminism. Consequently, our objectives are to record how the environment is presented in texts of children's literature which are written by women; to examine how male and female romantic characters deal with it; and to draw relevant conclusions.
