The purpose of the present study was firstly to describe how 6th grade primary education students perceive the structure of the three Mediterranean sub-regions (European, African, Asian) and secondly to examine students' attitude towards the Mediterranean people. The data for the study were collected through a self-constructed questionnaire. Students' responses to 19 statements were factor analyzed. The results indicated that each of the three Mediterranean sub- regions was defined by three factors (geomorphology, people and culture). Concerning students' attitude toward the Mediterranean people it was revealed that the students were more positive towards European Mediterranean people than towards African and Asian Mediterranean people.
