Notes:
The first portion of his paper’s title was borrowed from Zizioulas’ best known and most representative work, John D. Zizioulas, Being as Communion: Studies in Personhood and the Church (Crestwood, New York: St. Vladimir’s Seminary Press, 1985). He would like to think of his contribution to the present volume as following the Biblical injunction: “Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man” (Lev. 19:32) KJV.
