Abstract:
This paper reports a qualitative evaluation of a life-skills program in physicaleducation. Participants in the program were 86 students of Grades 6 and 8. Data werecollected from students' interviews, field notes of participant observation and students'notebooks. Results showed a positive reception of the program by the majority of the studentsas well as knowledge and transfer of life skills. However, there was also a group of studentswho were negatively predisposed towards the program. Drawbacks of the program thatemerged were the absence of variety and the compulsory nature of goal setting.
