The aim of this article is to study the verbal form of parakeimenοs A' in Modern Greek. Within the framework of the theory of enunciation, we are going to try to shorry that this verbal form is one that always establishes a connection between the process and the origin of the enunciation. More precisely, it expresses a process that took place in the past and continues to interest the subject of the enunciation. Ιt is, therefore, different from the aorist, which expresses the "fait absolut".
