Ιn the present study compound words that occur in "The Κing's flute" of Κostis Palamas are systematically reviewed. The basic aim of this study is to verify that the poet was influenced to a large extent by his theoretical views about synthesis in his poetic practice, and that the compound words in the text are not the product of random inspiration but of a painstaking elaboration of the poetic language.
