The study of the correlation among personality traits, leadership competence and organizational performance

Abstract:
The administration and management of a farmer’s associations are governed by Farmer’sAssociation Act and Regulations of Credit Division of a Farmer’s Association to ensure a solid andsolvent management of a farmer-oriented financial institution, guarantee the benefits and privileges ofaccount holders, and promote the economic development and prosperity of the communities forfarmers and fishermen. This study intends to explore the correlation among personality traits, leadershipcompetence and organizational performance. The methods include data envelopment analysis and structuralequation modeling. The findings suggest that the leader’s charisma demonstrated by the chief executivedirector serve as an important intermediated variable for affecting the performance of the management ofFarmers’ Association and propose suggestions for the management. The indicators of personality traits ofchief executive directors in a farmer’s association should be taken into consideration in the election ofa chief executive director. As well, the indicators of leadership competence of chief executivedirectors in a farmer’s association should be taken into consideration in the election of a chiefexecutive director.
