How are multimedia documents structured? What is their specificity? How relevant are they in language teaching? We will first address these questions by examining a double corpus of CD-Roms specifically designed for the teaching of French as a foreign language and of reference CD-Roms that we consider can also be used to the same end. Then we will examine the case of a few resource centres for the teaching of French as a foreign language outside France and will show which type of pedagogical mediation can make the use of multimedia resources coherent and productive in language teaching.
