This paper aims at the exploration of the way that the users of the Greek media discourse use and abuse the various possible linguistic potentialities. For that reason, we analyse and show through examples taken from the Greek media discourse several chosen linguistic choices commonly used by Greek journalists during the last years; these linguistic choices are the subject of the international scientific research relevant to tests and style: recontextualization, conversationalization, oralization, intertextuality, referee design. We also examine the use and abuse of the morphological variety of the Greek media discourse.
