Based on a corpus of 40 essays, the purpose of this paper is to detect, analyse and categorise all the morphosyntactic errors in the written interlanguage of Poles learning Modern Greek as a foreign language. Firstly, a short reference to Polish grammar presents the most important differences between the two languages and reveals some causes of the learners’ errors. Secondly, the main part of the paper outlines the most frequently produced errors in the major morphosyntactic categories of Greek grammar, namely the verb, the vocabulary, the article, the noun, and finally the pronoun. For each category, the same pattern of analysis is used, consisting of a chart showing the kind and number of errors, followed by comments explaining noteworthy phenomena. In addition, examples are extracted from the corpus to accompany our study.
