Abstract:
The author of this article has elaborated an objective test that has been answered by 1389 university students in different programs, in order to analyze the acquistion or non acquisition of the fundamental notions related to french grammar and spelling. After a brief explanation about the reasons and relevance of this research, description is given of the test itself, its content and its validity and some characteristics of the students. The results of the test show a general non acquisition of the fundamental notions and it specifies the notions teachers and professors should concentrate upon either in french improvement courses of special courses.
