A terracotta arula of Dioskuroi from Ancient Corinth
Author:
Abstract:
The small terracotta arula published here, no 1762 of the Museum of the Ancient Corinth, was found in fragmentary condition during an excavation in the Kritika place in 1981. Itwas made in a mould by using pinkish buff Corinthian clay. It’s dimentions are 31 cm height and 33.5 cm width. Upon the three panels of the arula we recognise the relief decoration of Dioskuroi with their sister Helen. The chronology of the new arula (first half of the 2nd c. B.C.) includes all the problems of the absolute chronology of these monuments, because no one of them was found in situ.
