Abstract:
The linguistic phenomena are divided into the sphere of norm and the sphere of inclination. Inclination comes out with the spontaneous reaction of a medium speaker at the hearing of a linguistic type unusual to him. This is a phenomenon based on the speaker’s linguistic conscience. In lexicography, the entry words of the dictionaries that do not belong to the norm are pointed out, which means they accept some labels which are known as utilitarian labels / signs. They also have a metalinguistic function and they usually appear as abbreviations. At the present paper, there ’s an enterprise of a comparative study of the utilitarian labels/ signs in three dictionaries of the greek language.
