Abstract:
The paper outlines a hypothesis that the church of the Virgin in Drenovo was a foundation of a local ruler and that it was build in the fourth of fifth decade of the 14th century. A comparative analysis of the plans and structures of the church of the Virgin in Drenovo and Panagia Olimpiotissa at Elasson, together with certain historical circumstances, represent a basis for the conclusion that the church in Drenovo belongs to the typΜεσοβυζαντινή και Υστεροβυζαντινή περίοδος; Βαλκάνια και Μικρά Ασία; αρχιτεκτονική; σχεδιασμόςe of domed ambulatory churches from the Late Byzantine Period. It is possibility that, previously mentioned churches belong to same architectural circle.
