Abstract:
Excavations in the castle of Kitros in northern Pieria, Macedonia, have yielded numerous pieces of jewellery and dress accessories, such as finger rings, bracelets, buttons and belt buckles. These are dated on the basis of the associated coin finds to the late eleventh and the twelfth century. The discovery outside the castle of a funnel used in casting metal and the typological similarities of these objects suggest that they were made in situ.
