Abstract:
Pétrographie and petrological techniques have been used to examine Jordanian Neolithicplaster floors from Ain Ghazal, Ain Jamman and plastered walls from Basta. The analyzed plastersamples show that there is a significant difference in the quantities of burnt lime of marl needed inconstruction of plaster floors. It is more probable to suggest that in order to reduce the amount ofburnt lime needed, additive materials such as non-burnt lime or marl, chert, bones, shells, andpottery sherds were used. This suggests that burnt lime was minor in use than the non-burnt limeor marl.
