Abstract:
In order to prepare a conservation plan for Abila archaeological site, deterioration formsand factors at the site were documented. Natural factors such as earthquakes, water and saltcrystallization, as well as human factors such as negligence and improper conservation arethought to be the main factors leading to the destruction of the site. Previous conservationworks at the site were also discussed. In addition to the preventive measures, otherinterventive conservation measures should be adopted; such as: cleaning, restoration, consolidation and reconstruction of some archaeological features.
