Abstract:
Since doctors are responsible for the most of hospital expenditures, the knowledge of physicians’ attitudes toward health care costs is an important matter. In our study, we aimed to determine these attitudes, practices, and knowledge of healthcare costs among Greek clinical directors. The study reviewed levels of cost consciousness in practice, attitudes, and obstacles related to the knowledge of the costs of medical resources, and the difference between the priorities of clinical directors and hospitals’ managers. The results confirm that cost containment in Healthcare Organizations can be achieved when all the involved parts have the same target and can persuade each other for the sincerity of their intentions
