Abstract:
The paper analyzes historically the basic theories of internationalization decision with respect to ‘why’ the firms internationalise. Starting from conflictions both in theories and empirical studies dealing with the firms’ internationalization choice problem the paper provides implications for managers in practice and outline emerging trends in internationalization theory as well as possible starting points for future research.
