Abstract:
Analysing the impact on the application of the Euro and the reformation of the banking institutional framework will have on the financial-credit environment is the object of this study. A critical approach, with reference to the operational cost of the greek banks' transition and adaptation to a single currency as well as to the financial advantages resultingfrom such an incorporation in a long-term period, are dealt with in this paper. On a parallel with these issues, the banking operational attitude and the role of credit institutions in the context of the new competition conditions imposed by the relevant convergence are examined hereby.
