The evolution and the impact of Touristic Development in Greece
Abstract:
Industrial Growth was the main characteristic during the 1950s and 1960s for the Greek economy. However, in the last two decades or so there was a remarkable decline on "the structure of industrial core" of the country and despite of the rapid growth in the adoption of new technologies, there is still a widening technological-gap between Greece and the other advanced European member states. On the other hand, during this last period, there is a remarkable increase on the tourism sector and services of the country. Tourism sector corresponding at 10-12 % of world Gross Product and its one of the main sectors with important socio-economic effects. This article aiming to examine the evaluation of the tourism sector in Greece. Also, it’s aiming to analyse the implications of tourism policy and the perspectives for the socio-economic development in Greece.
